'Ugly' Kim Chiu in debut flick with Xian Lim
The first film of Kim Chiu and Xian Lim as a "love team" is among the five movies covered up so far in celebration of Star Cinema's 20th anniversary
The ABS-CBN film industry beginning this weeks time declared that aside from "Bakit Hindi Ka Crush ng Crush Mo?", the Joyce Bernal-directed film featuring Chiu and Lim, four other movies will be launched this year to indicate the development organization's second several years in the industry.
Here are the movies covered up for launch by Star Cinema, and what moviegoers can anticipate when they hit theaters:
BAKIT HINDI KA CRUSH NG CRUSH MO?
Starring: Kim Chiu, Xian Lim, Ramon Bautista
Based on the comedy and "self-help" guide by TV host and higher education lecturer Ramon Bautista, the Joyce Bernal-helmed romantic-comedy is seen as the big-screen first appearance of "KimXi," or Chiu and Lim's love team. According to the lead celebrities, the film will response the question presented by its title.
Chiu, in an previously interview, said she recognizes the film as her first project into comedy. Making reference to her "transformation" in the film, the celebrity said, "'Di ko kayang magpatawa, pero this time sobrang kahit ako natatawa ako sa sarili ko."
Starring: Eugene Domingo, Jake Cuenca, Enchong Dee, Empress Schuck, Leo Martinez
Directed by Veronica Velasco and scheduled for launch on This July 17, the film requires its title basically as it recognizes three irrelevant people -- Bamboula (Domingo), Tonio (Martinez) and Caloy (Dee) -- skewered by single metal bar in a street incident.
With separate lives and unresolved problems of their own, the three are left to face the reality that not all of them will be saved, as doctors find their situation difficult to solve without sparing a life.
